Believe it or not, I'm a foodie. When I say this, usually the people around me burst into laughter because according to them a foodie must be fat with a minimum of 70 Kgs body weight (and I'm not). But things change when they see me eating something and afterwards they wouldn't dare to object my statement.
My love for food has no boundaries. I always wish to have variety in food. I easily get bored with the same types of food. Hence, I always would have an eye on food when travelling to different places and I know food culture changes from one place to another. Shortly, I never want to regret about a delicious food.
Let's come to the point.
Singapore. What's the first thing come to your mind about Singapore?
Tall buildings, beautiful beaches, shopping.....Stop There!!
In my opinion, the first thing you should think about Singapore is food. Literally saying, Singapore is a food heaven with a lot of delicious dishes.

Singapore Cuisine is a synonym for variety (in food). Even though Singaporean foods are mainly originated from Malay culture, the significant influence of Indian, Indonesian, Chinese and Western tradition also can be seen. The globalisation phenomenon present in the Singaporean foods attracts all the tourists worldwide.
Singaporean foods have a special power to attract my taste buds. Hainanese Chicken Rice and Chilli Crab are my favourite Singaporean foods. Just imagining these two tasty dishes make my taste buds flood.
HAINANESE CHICKEN RICE
In rice foods, I considered Hyderabadi Biriyani as the best until I found Hainanese Chicken Rice, Singapore's national food. This Chicken Rice conquered my taste buds as well as my heart. It is a food which is easily available everywhere in Singapore.

The small sized, roasted or steamed chicken pieces are served with a bowl of fragrant rice and different sauces including chilli sauce. The rice has a special taste because it's cooked in chicken stock with pandan leaves. The chilli sauce has blended taste of spiciness and sourness.
The Chicken Rice tastes so good such that I won't take away my eyes from the plate until it gets finished. As I said earlier, it is a popular food in Singapore and it is served everywhere starting from hawker stalls to major restaurants in the country.
CHILLI CRAB
Singapore is a real treasure of sea foods. Chilli Crab is one among them. I have a special love towards less spicy food and obviously Chilli Crab is a less spicy Singaporean dish.

In Chilli Crab, the crab is fried in a sweet as well as slightly spicy sauce. The sauce is based on tomatoes and chillies. If the fried crab is tasty then the sauce is tastier, yes, sauce is the real star. I wonder how quickly I empty the plate served with Chilli Crab!
Chilli Crab is one of the important culinary inventions of Singapore. It is considered as the king of crab dishes and it's served in all major seafood restaurants of Singapore.
In this blog post, I introduced only two Singaporean dishes. Want to know more about delicious Singaporean foods? Want to check hotels and restaurants in Singapore? Want to know about deals and offers on Singapore foods?
