In this era of smartphones, we are used to saying that we have no time for anything. I believe it's a big lie. We are lying to ourselves because we have enough time to spend on Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram, and Hike but no time to spend on the real world. I think now is the right time to come out from these virtual boxes to build real togetherness.
To understand what effect these smartphones and internet brought to our lives, we just need to distinguish our lives before smartphones and after smartphones. In my case, I got my first smartphone when I was studying B.Tech final year. That phone was gifted by my dad. After that, as everyone I also became a phone addict. I couldn't imagine a day without my phone and internet.
Before the arrival of my first smartphone, I always spent a lot of time with my friends in the club. Every night we discussed sports, politics and movies. During holidays, I would go to nearby school ground and play football. At home, I would help my Dad in gardening and Mom in cooking.
And what's the case now? Yes, now, I have a smartphone and my life's easy but I am missing a lot of things I did before. Now, I am always glued to likes, comments, and selfies. Now I don't have time to spend with my friends because I have a lot of things to do in the virtual world. I can even spend a whole day in my room with my phone.
What about our 'new generation' kids? They are born on smartphones and tablets. Unlike my childhood, they are always playing games on tablets and have no time or interest to play with soil, plants, flowers, seeds and butterflies. It seems like the digital world is detaching our kids from nature and realities.
So, this is the right time to think and act. It's the right time to take a break from the virtual world to build meaningful relationships. We need to look back to the forgotten nature. We need to start building real togetherness from nature itself. We need to push our kids towards nature and its infinite energy.
What about creating a kitchen garden? Let's take some time out from Facebook and Twitter and start creating our own vegetable garden. Let's include our brothers, sisters and kids and make this return to our roots and soil a stage for real togetherness.
The farms of Kissanpur are now open. Kissan is taking an initiative to discover the joy of nature and the real togetherness. You can find more information on Kissan's initiative from this Link. Also, watch Kissan's video given below. I really love this video because it's depicting how our generation living with smartphones and it's also showing how we can build true togetherness through nature.
